  • Proficient in applying data analysis and statistical analysis concepts in real-time systems; evaluation, calibration and automation of simulation models. Also worked on demand/pattern prediction, sensitivity analysis, time-series analysis and dynamic traffic assignment models.
  • Experienced in applying mechanical, image processing and artificial intelligence techniques in development of a growth assessment model.

  • Research Assistant, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, USF                                          August 2004-present
    • Worked with Unmanned Systems Lab (USL) and Center for Urban Transportation and Research (CUTR) on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-based real-time traffic surveillance.
    • Designed and implemented the framework for integration of real-time video data into traffic simulation models. Research includes evaluation, automation, calibration and validation of traffic simulation software.
    • Statistic and sensitivity analysis of real-time data, including data collection, data cleaning, estimating probability distribution, seasonal/random fluctuation patterns, spectral analysis and parameter estimation of measures of effectiveness.
    • Experienced with statistical softwares such as SPSS, LIMDEP and R for regression analysis.
  • Research Assistant, Intelligent Systems Laboratory, Department of Computer and Information Science, Purdue University at Indianapolis                                                                                                                                 August 2002 to July 2004
    • Research funded by NSF: Verification and implementation of structural damage assessment of aluminum.
    • Use of cellular automata concepts to simulate the metal surface and environment. Software development using Java and MATLAB.
    • Feature extraction for validation of simulated results using image processing techniques and wavelet transforms such as PCA and SVD.
    • Artificial Intelligence methods such as neural networks and genetic algorithms to build up growth model.
