Student Groups
Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) - The USF Student Chapter of the ACM is the largest and most active organization in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. We welcome both graduate and undergraduate students to our chapter. Some of the benfits our members enjoy include bi-monthly meetings featuring industry speakers presenting topics on the latest developments in technology catered with free food and drinks, social events, career contacts and planning, the ACM annual programming competition, leadership opportunities, and much more!
IEEE Computer Society - The goal of the IEEE Computer Society USF student chapter is to generate the interest in the computer science/engineering discipline among the young and talented minds on the campus. It organizes various events to that end including invited talks by distinguished researchers in related fields, problem-solving contest, etc. The faculty advisor for IEEE-CS is Dr. Hao.
Communications Network Group - The purpose of this group is to promote the intellectual exchange, technology transfer and research collaboration by industry ties, community outreach, and recruitment of students. In particular, 1) organize a reading group for seminal papers and recent contributions in the communications and networks area, 2) develop a mentoring program for undergraduate and graduate students, 3) informative talks to elementary and high school students, and 4) invite speakers from industry and universities to give presentations and/or talks about communications and networking.
