Dr. Pei-Sung Lin is the program director of ITS, Traffic Operations and Safety at the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) in the University of South Florida. Dr. Lin originally came from Taiwan. He obtained his Master Degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and doctoral degree from the University of Florida. Dr Lin is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Florida, and a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) by the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). He has more than sixteen years of excellent work and research experience in ITS, Traffic Signal Systems, Traffic Operations, Traffic Safety and Transportation Planning.

Dr. Lin has published and presented numerous papers in national and international conferences. Currently, Dr. Lin serves as the Chair of the Intelligent Traffic Signal Operations Committee in the ITE, and lead the committee to assist local transportation agencies to improve their traffic signal operations. Dr. Lin is an executive committee member of ITS, Management and Operations Council in the ITE. Dr. Lin also serves as a committee member of the Traffic Signal Operations for the Florida Department of Transportation.
